Hello, my fabulous friends. Welcome to my lair. These are my inky treasures.
Sometimes it feels like I am making no progress at all on my writing. So I decided to write out my projects, mainly for my own sake, but then you guys can see what I'm working on, too. :)
Things I'm working on:
Series: In the Name of Science
Book One: RadioActive
Genre: Sci-Fi // Adventure // Futuristic // dystopian
Status: Working on second draft
Synopsis: They say that people don't just start wars just to start them. But that's not true. It's the year 2138 A.D. and the world is on the brink of World War IV. Legal experiments conducted over a decade ago are surfacing to the top of the news. Millions were injected with a serum that was supposed to make them immune to radiation, but only eight had produced results. Only eight of the subjects are immune. A bomb goes off on the San Diego beach, and when all but these eight kids get sick off radiation, the world starts to wonder what is going on. Why was the bomb set off? To start a war in the simple name of science. Can these eight kids save the world from over a dozen dirty bombs and radiation poison strikes? Or will the world go up in flame?
Book Two: Rust
Genre: Sci-Fi // Adventure // Futuristic // Steampunk
Status: Outlining
Synopsis: The world has crumbled. Electricity, music, and guns banned. Rebel groups have sprouted up all over the world, people begging for life just to go back to how it was before. Darias, a young man obsessed with the world of science meets an unlikely person who is a brilliant, young scientist. Together they work on getting back electricity. The progress is slow, especially since a rebel group called SHADOW is growing bigger everyday, threatening to become the number one law enforcement and intelligence center in the world. Will Darias and his new friend, Liz, be able to bring back electricity before the world goes deep into darkness? Can the world really live off this steampower? Will SHADOW protect the world, or destroy it?
Book Three: Metallic
Genre: Sci-Fi // Adventure // Futuristic // Steampunk with Cyberpunk elements.
Status: Daft III (don't ask why this one was written before book two...)
Synopsis: It's been fifty years since WWIV and the world seems to be moving on with life. Steam is running the entire planet, and things are running smoothly. That is until a king comes to rule on the throne of England, and secrets are brought forward into the light. The king isn't all human. He's a Cyborg, and the kingdom doesn't care. But for SHADOW agent, Archer Carter, the world has been turned upside down. This was what his father and his father's SHADOW friends had been talking about so many years ago. This was what he was trained for.
Sylver, the princess of England, is torn from her home in Italy, and placed in the foreign land of England. Meanwhile, she gets a new body guard, and secrets are revealed. The king doesn't want to restore the country, he wants to bring back electricity and start another war, this time with his Cyborg army. Sylver is the only one who can save them all, but her courage is running thin. Will Archer and Sylver be able to stop King Darias and his wife before they take the free-will of all the people in Eurasia? Will defending the name of science cause yet another war?
Book Four: Bones
Genre: Sci-Fi // Adventure // Futuristic // Steampunk with Dystopian elements.
Status: Outlining
Synopsis: Archer is trying to get on with his life so soon after stopping the cyborg outbreak. He is in love with a great woman and their kids are growing up in a steampowered world. But the life before this haunts his dreams and he becomes obsessed with finding his best friend's killer. Science is progressing and it makes it easier for him to research the life before the war, but only more questions and dark, dark secrets surface. Life is advancing, mechanical dragons seem to be sprouting from the ground, and a tattoo from over sixty years ago is suddenly the answer to all of his questions. A bomb is set off in the jail house, and Darias gets away. No one knows what his plans are, or where he has gone. SHADOW works hard to find him, and Archer stands on the edge of depression while his life fades away with his best friend's death. Not to mention, all who were injected with SW are slowly turning into machines. Will digging up old bones cause more problems? Or will his restless spirit be put at ease when he finally knows what actually happened that fateful day? His heart is clockwork, and there's no countering it.
The Dreamers Trilogy:
Book One: Dream On
Genre: Fantasy // Adventure
Status: First draft. Badly needs a second draft.
Synopsis: Julia was just a girl when she found the little medallion on the ground while on her way to school. The day she turns sixteen is the day everything changes. Excusing herself from her own party, she goes to sleep with a bad headache. And her world gets turned around. Julia is transported to a medieval world where she is engaged to a guy she has never met. It's a few days before the big ceremony and she is scared out of her mind. While taking a horse back ride alone in the country, she gets off trail and has an accident. She meets the jock from back in her time, and finds out she is a Dreamer: a person who can travel through others' dreams. They're no longer fantasies, but a reality for Julia and others just like her.
Book Two: Wayward Dreamers
Genre: Fantasy // Adventure
Status: Outlining/part of rough draft complete
Synopsis: Soon after Julia has become familiar with this new dream realm, she finds out that that medallion is more important than first thought. The Dreamers are a dangerous kind, and they stop at nothing to get what they want. Zeke seems innocent enough. He's cute, smart, and is a Dreamer as well. Jon starts to get suspicious of Zeke when he asks questions about the long lost Dreamer Medallion.
Julia is stuck between trusting Jon, and liking the way Zeke handles things. She gets to have fun in the Dream world with Zeke, but if she's not careful, she'll end up in the Middle: the place between reality and dreams.
Book Three: Between Dreams and Reality
Genre: Fantasy // Adventure
Status: Outlining/part of rough draft complete
Synopsis: Julia actions have lead to serious consequences and she has been banned to the Middle. Zeke is a rebel Dreamer on the run from the Elders. Julia wonders if there is a bigger purpose for him wanting to destroy the Dream World with the medallion. Jon tries to find a way to get Julia back, and the man behind the entire scheme is revealed. The Dream World is crumbling apart as reality starts to seep in. They hope it will stay secret forever.
Name: Purpose: A Novel
Genre: Adventure // Medieval Slice-of-life // Christian Fiction
Status: First draft complete. Badly needs a second draft.
Synopsis: Katie was a peasant. She wasn't ever supposed to be brought into the Kingdom, let alone marry the next in line for the Throne of Italy. A blood war threatens the entire kingdom and her beau is killed in the crossfire. John, a mysterious man, saves her life and brings her to a cabin, where she learns about the Brothers of the Alliance, an elite group of soldiers loyal only to the deceased King and the Kingdom. The blood war rages, and men fight to gain the throne, but no one can ever have the King's throne.
Name: Soul: Novella
Genre: Sci-Fi with fantasy elements // Spiritual Warfare // Christian Fiction
Status: First draft complete.
Synopsis: It's either Angels or Spirits, and there's no in between. The Humans are merely a pawn to the Spirits, and the Angels try and protect them. But everyone has a Free Will, and neither the Angels or Spirits can snatch a Human from the Middle. Ashstar's world was destroyed by Spirits, and everyone wiped out over night. She has been living with her best friend, Jaymes, for years. But the war inside of her soul is more than she can handle. A Spirit broke the Rule and Ashstar and Jaymes are kidnapped, taken to the Kingdom of Darkness and three numbers tattooed on their hands. They must go on a quest to find the King and get the numbers removed. Azeem, an Angel, gives them a Map to how they can get Belial's mark off. But Ashstar has to decide which side she is on before she reaches the King.
